Chilling: Solo Woman Alarmed By Dogs Barking at Trailer Intruder
There’s nothing quite like traveling solo and hitting the open road, nothing between you, the road ahead, and just enjoying the journey on the way to the prized destination.
But let’s be real: Traveling is not without its dangers.
There are the practical things, like having a problem with your vehicle or a mixup at the campgrounds you intended to set up in or all of the bathrooms or showers being out of order, with scheduled maintenance set for Monday… and it’s Thursday.
All of these possibilities, and countless others, are made just a little bit harder when tackling them alone. But these are the dangers and inconveniences that are just human against technology, maintenance, or poor record-keeping… What about those moments when someone’s alone, and they find themselves in a human-against-hungry-animal or human-against-human situation?
That’s the situation TikToker @LucyChy&Stormy found herself in while she was traveling alone long-term across the country in her travel trailer with her two rescue dogs, Chy and Stormy.
She trained the pair long ago not to bark unnecessarily, so while they’d still bark at the ever-changing UPS drivers, since they were constantly moving location, they were otherwise quiet when it came to neighboring campers walking past the trailer or animals that were a little too curious about the big, moving box.
So one night when she was already settled into her daybed, just enjoying quiet time working on her hobbies from the comfort of her bed in her dimmed home, the TikToker felt chills when both of her dogs rose to attention.
They’d already settled onto the daybed, as well, but they were quick to rise from their comfortable positions. One perked his ears and grumbled low in his chest, while the other started barking. According to TikToker @LucyChy&Stormy, this is abnormal behavior for her very polite and sweet dogs, so it was a cause for alarm.
She stayed in her position in bed while her dogs vocally warned the possible intruders. While she never had to find out who’d come too close to her home, she only managed to sleep that night because she had two dogs with her who she could trust to alert her.

The more spiritual members of the TikTok community were weirded out by the number of “orbs” in the video, small specks that most would assume are dust particles or refracted light, but which the spiritual community view as indicators of protective spirits or ancestors lingering.

We don’t like to think about this, of course; we like to think of travel as generally positive, freeing, and zen, but it’s still important to discuss, at least from time to time.
We’re all ready to get out there and make new memories and take Instagram-worthy photos because of the good stuff, but we need to be prepared, just in case things get a little bit too real.
Without getting too creepy, have you ever had something unexpected, maybe even scary, happen while you were traveling, perhaps alone? What did you do about it?
